Blotter: Car Burglaries and Cat Rescues

The following information was supplied by the South San Francisco Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 25

12:37pm  A house on Springwood Way was reportedly vandalized sometime overnight. The resident told police that eggs and either ketchup or paint had been thrown at the home.

5:28pm  Police received a report that a gray Pontiac convertible was vandalized while parked on South Maple Avenue. The cloth top had reportedly been ripped, but the subjects did not gain entry into the vehicle.

Tuesday, July 26

1:14pm  Minor injuries were incurred after a vehicle hit a bicyclist near the intersection of King Drive and Junipero Serra Boulevard.

1:42pm  Police and firefighters helped employees of the SPCA get into a home on Baden Avenue to rescue a cat. The cat’s owner had been arrested several days prior and the cat had been left alone.

2:19pm  A vehicle was reported as stolen while parked on Hillside Boulevard.

6:28pm  Police received a report that three male juveniles were running in and out of traffic on Hillside Boulevard, “playing chicken” with passing cars.

7:21pm  The window of a silver Honda Odyssey parked near Grand and Linden Avenues was smashed and a laptop was reported as missing from inside.

7:30pm  Another vehicle was reportedly vandalized while parked on Grand Avenue near Buon Gusto, this time a silver Toyota Sienna. It was unknown if anything was taken from inside the vehicle.

8:10  Near Lux and Cypress Avenues, yet another vehicle was broken into. A bag full of documentation was reportedly stolen from inside the silver Jeep.

Wednesday, July 27

3:06pm  Security at Costco on El Camino Real detained a suspect who reportedly attempted to steal two packages of filet mignon.

10:23pm  A laptop was stolen from a silver Nissan rental car parked at IHOP on South Airport Boulevard. The culprits smashed a window to get into the vehicle.

Thursday, July 28

10:45am  Officers sent a cover unit to the Elks Lodge on Stonegate Drive, where an elderly male pedestrian had reportedly been struck by a vehicle.

2:29pm  A gas pump at the Valero station on Callan Boulevard was reported as being damaged after a driver ran into it and then sped off.
