Original Report: A 66-year-old South San Francisco woman was in court Tuesday afternoon to hear the date of the pretrial in her child abuse case.
Patricia Ann Moore, a foster mother, is accused of willful cruelty to a child and infliction of injury on a child.
In August of 2010, Moore's adult daughter saw that Moore's 20-month-old foster daughter had first and second degree burns on both buttocks. She took the baby to the hospital where doctors noted the burns were in the shape of a diaper waffle pattern.
According to San Mateo County District Attorney's Office Media Notes, Moore said that the baby "had defecation problems so she bathed the child in 12 inches of water and half a capful of bleach." But the story did not check out considering that the burns were only in the diaper area.
Police later found a bleach-soaked diaper in the trash at Moore's house, according to the DA's Office.
Moore was arrested but posted a $50,000 bail bond. Her pretrial on two felony charges is set for Feb. 25 at 8:45 a.m.
