Health and Fitness One Step at a Time for Elementary School Students

Students from Marjorie H. Tobias Elementary School in Daly City arrived on campus this week by substituting sneakers for cars.  This is all part of national Walk to School month during which students throughout the Bay Area are learning just how easy it is to incorporate the recommended 60 minutes of exercise a day by just putting one foot in front of the other and walking to school.

Kaiser Permanente's Educational Theater mascot Super Weevil led the way this past Wednesday to show students the importance of  walking and at the same time being safe while on the sidewalks and crosswalks of Daly City.  Kaiser Permanente in its ongoing effort to promote health eating and active living is working with Walk to School programs across Northern California to demonstrate the importance of daily physical activity and proper pedestrian safety so students and parents alike can benefit.
