South San Francisco Woman Honored for Work as USO Volunteer

LeeAnn Thornton received the USO Volunteer of the Quarter award on Thursday in a ceremony at San Francisco International Airport, USO officials said.

A South San Francisco woman was honored on Thursday for her work as a volunteer with the United Service Organizations.

LeeAnn Thornton received the USO Volunteer of the Quarter award on Thursday in a ceremony at San Francisco International Airport, USO officials said.

Thornton, a civilian employee with the Hillsborough Police Department, has volunteered with the USO for five years and puts in 25 to 30 hours a month.

She works at the USO center, represents the USO at functions and works as a member of the Families of the Fallen response team.
