"If you lose any sight of your goal, which is obviously getting her through this and getting her to be cancer-free, you've failed your child," Watson said.

Along with her husband, Jesus Peña, Watson is keeping her daughter's memory alive through the Juliana's Journey Facebook page and website. Watson and Peña intend to devote themselves to fighting neuroblastoma.

Watson will celebrate her daughter's third birthday on May 21 at Ocean Beach by sending 75 lanterns into the sky alongside friends and supporters.

Patch commenters described Watson's devotion best:

Jesus Peña: She is not my mom but she is my wife and mother to Juliana Pena. She is the best mother not only in SSF but in the world! You spent everyday and night with our beautiful baby and made certain sacrifices so that could happen but you wouldn't call them sacrifices you called them choices!! You love Juliana more then life itself and I know she loved you the same way! So here's to you Patricia, the best mom I know! Happy Mother's Day and I'm sorry Juliana is not here to spend it with you!!

Brandi Magner: Patricia never left Juliana's side. Both her parents did an outstanding job of keeping her spirits high and her life as normal as possible. Sharing smiles and cuddles through an incredibly difficult time. Patricia also opened her heart to the community allowing us the honor of sharing Juliana's journey. Now through the incredible anguish and grief she continues to keep her promise to her daughter by never giving up the fight and spreading Juliana's Journey in an effort to help save many little precious lives. She is truly Mother of the year!
