Welcome to Santa Clara, Jed York
Loyalty to the 49ers is overwhelmed by the new realities of the Santa Clara move.
I have been a season ticket holder, section 33 at Candlestick since the 49ers moved there from Kezar Stadium. Prior to that, I was a student vendor, selling sodas at Kezar going back to the late 1940's.
We currently pay $2580 for our two tickets (eight games and two exhibitions). I note that my same tickets are projected to cost $7000 per season after I will be asked to pay a $60,000 seat license fee when the 49ers move to Santa Clara, now apparently a guaranteed move, and one which will not be accompanied by the Mullin family's concurrent move.
A thought: admittedly we shared almost 20 years of exciting entertainment with Montana, Rice, Lott, Young and Garcia, but we also endured a decade of desultory, boring and losing football prior to the current year. The fans' reward for the past support is being priced out of the new stadium, not by a bit but by a wide margin.

Make no assumptions that televised games, my only future option, will remain on commercial channels. Pay-per-view will be as commonplace as dropped passes by Michael Crabtree. Thanks, Jed.
