NZ Hat and Hair Art Fashion Show Walkabout

As New Zealand competes for the 34th America's Cup, they are hosting a series of events to showcase their country in San Francisco throughout the America's Cup Summer of Racing. Today at the NZ Hat and Hair Art Fashion Show Walkabout, the best of New Zealand's creativity, innovation, fibre art and fashion will be on display for all to enjoy and experience.


This event will be a preview to NZ Hat and Hair Art's appearance during the upcoming Couture Fashion week in New York. The group's work has been accepted to exhibit at Couture Fashion week on the 5-8 of September at the New Yorker Hotel. Their catwalk show on the 7th will feature models wearing a collection of NZ inspired head art entitled 'Raw', complimented with clothing designs in NZ Merino, Leather (from
NZ Light Leathers) and Pounamu (indigenous greenstone) adornments (from Ngai Tahu carvers from NZ’s South Island).



NZ Hat and Hair Art is based in Timaru, South Canterbury, and has grown and nurtured the NZ Hat & Hair Art awards over the past 10 years, with a planned move to Christchurch for the performance in 2014.
