Hanukah Community Celebration

On the 4th night of Hanukkah, the community will get together to light candles, sing Hanukkah songs and listen and dance to of top Bay Area musicians. Traditional Hanukkah food will be sold.  All ages invited.

NIGUNM COMMUNITY CHORUS
Celebrating 15 years of singing joyfully in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and English. The chorus meets weekly at the JCC East Bay. To find out how to join the group contact mail@nigunim.org.

RIVKA AMADO
Rivka Amado grew up In a Ladino-speaking home, and sang in her Sephardi synagogue in Jerusalem. An expert on Ladino Culture and a performing artist, Rivka will sing a selection of songs popular with the Ladino Speaking Jews.

MAMA LOSHN
Gail Kissin, Suzanne Shanbaum and Rhonda Findling will take us on an ecstatic and poignant adventure to the Old World and beyond. Mama Loshn’s music is evocative and stirring, and offers an effortlss transit to another era and ethos.
 
ADAMA DUO
Singer/guitarist Achi Ben Shalom and percussionist Jan Padover. The two have been performing together for over 25 years. The duo specializes in classic Israeli music, music of the Sephardi Jews and folk dance tunes.

ALLSTAR DANCING BAND
Musicians of Bay Area Klezmer bands will join each other for an upbeat, high energy klezmer music jam, designed to get you off your feet to the dance floor.

BRUCE BIERMAN
An award winning actor, director, choreographer and playwright with dance residencies throughout the Bay Area.  His studies have taken him to New York, Poland and Israel. He is currently directing the Yiddish show “Di Megileh of Itzik Manger”, scheduled on March 2014.
