The short and sweet: Applications to participate in FemSexComm's 4th workshop season are due on January 15th. The online applications, and more details on the workshop, can be found on our website at www.femsexcomm.org. Our last info session is next Monday, January 14th at Interplayce in Oakland. We hope you'll join us!

Some more info (less short but equally sweet):
1. What is FemSexComm?
FemSexComm is a 15-week Bay Area workshop series with discussion groups in San Francisco and Oakland. Modeled after the long-running and popular female sexuality workshop offered at UC Berkeley, Brown, Carleton, and Harvard, FemSexComm brings these conversations out of the academic setting and into the greater Bay Area community — opening a vibrant space for learning, empowerment, and self-discovery. FemSexComm provides a courageous and supportive platform to explore a variety of issues through the lens of female sexuality, including gender, sex, desire, privilege, allyship, reproductive health, communication, and more. A new season of the FemSexComm workshop begins in February.

2. Who can take this workshop?
We encourage all who are interested to come to an info session (Spring Date: Wednesday, January 9th). We welcome people of all genders, sexualities and sexual orientations, ethnicities, religious affiliations, political inclinations, abilities, income levels, and occupations. We ask that participants be age 18 or older. Please contact us at femsexcomm@gmail.com with any questions about participation.

3. Where and when is the workshop?
Our San Francisco workshop location will be 518 Valencia, the Eric Quezada Center for Culture and Politics. In Oakland, we will meet at Interplay, located at 2273 Telegraph Ave. The workshop will meet every Monday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, and run for 15 weeks. This season is scheduled to begin the week of February 3rd and end the week of May 12th. Both spaces are fully accessible; please arrive fragrance-free to respect folks with multiple chemical sensitivities. Thank you!

“If you are at all curious about sexuality, identity, power, privilege, pleasure, health, communication, community…go to FemSexComm!  I can’t recommend it highly enough."

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
