Vote for the Best Coffee Shop in South San Francisco

We heard your nominations, and now it's time to vote.

For many, it’s as necessary in the morning as your first breath. It’s the required addition to the alarm clock going off.

Two cups? Four cups? Eight. For many South City residents, that exact number means the difference between rocking that morning presentation and falling asleep at the board meeting.

That fresh brew has undergone several iterations from the traditional cup of Joe with different Vanilla sweeteners, Arabian beans or chocolate and candy flavored additives.

And it’s not just the cup, but the atmosphere and service that delivers that perfect cup of coffee.

We took your nominations and created a list of some of the best coffee shops in South City.

For good coffee, a donut and conversation, and a feeling of local communitywith somewhat native South San Franciscians I go to Royal Donuts on El Camino Real. It is located on the opposite street from from So. City High between Ponderosa and Contry Club Drive. Kim, the owner and Jim her husband are very pleasent people and also great supporters of many So. San Francisco programs.Mona and the rest of the people working there are also very nice. This spot is a So. City secret that is as community based as baseball is Amereican.

I totally agree with Mike. The other places on the list are all chain cafes with no real personality. Royal Donut feels very much like South City and the people who work there are great. LET'S ADD ROYAL DONUT TO THE LIST OF CANDIDATES PLEASE!!!

By popular demand, adding Royal Donut to the poll. Great tip.
