Our Picks for Pops This Weekend

Some ideas for treating Dad on Father's Day.

Each year, when summer is just about ready to get in full swing, dads across America get ready for their designated day of family, relaxation and recognition. With Father’s Day creeping up this Sunday, we’ve thought up some local plans for where to take dad and how to treat him for a day he’ll remember this year.

Bring dad to this showroom/Harley history museum for an afternoon of admiring classic hogs and drooling over dream bikes. There is no cost to enter, and an attached merchandise shop is the perfect place to pick up a Harley jacket or other paraphernalia. The showroom is open 9am to 6pm every day.

For dads who love beer, lunch or dinner at San Bruno’s BJ’s will make their Father’s Days a little hoppier. Treat dad to one of the chain’s specialty craft brews this weekend and he’ll come away with a souvenir pint glass. The restaurant is also holding a Father’s Day contest where one lucky dad will win a trip for four to Pebble Beach.

Everyone loves a picnic, and this longstanding sandwich shop serves up the perfect fare for a sunny day in the park. Grab a few sandwiches, a picnic blanket, a football and a frisbee and help dad unwind under the sun this Sunday.

If you’re planning on taking the old man out for a Father’s Day fishing trip, be sure to hit this all-encompassing fishing supply shop beforehand. Although Hi’s is closed on Sundays, you can stop by the day before to pick up a new rod as a gift, or just to stock up on bait and other necessities before hitting the bay or your favorite lake.
