Man Struck by Caltrain, Dies

The cause of the collision is not known at this time.

A man died of his injuries after he was struck by a train in Burlingame early this morning, Caltrain officials said.

Caltrain's southbound train 198 struck the man near Bayswater Avenue at around 12:30 a.m.

The man was transported to a hospital, where he later died of his injuries. The incident is under investigation.

The train remained there until the track was reopened at 1:55 a.m. It was the last train of the day.

There were about 500 passengers on board at the time of the collision, Caltrain officials said.
