It's Time You Joined the Conversation. Blog on Patch

In the time that South San Francisco Patch has been online, there's has been no shortage of strong opinions from readers. You have commented on stories, debated local issues and written letters to the editor.

You've also shared what's important to you, by posting events sponsored by your organizations in our online calendar, creating announcements and submitting articles for publication.

Recently, we've introduced a new easy and accessible way for you to share your voice: the Patch blogging platform.

In short, blogging on Patch is a way for you to easily share with the community the things that you think are important in South San Francisco.

Do you volunteer for an organization? Then you can use your Patch blog to let readers know how to get involved and about upcoming events and fundraisers.

Are you a small business owner? Use your blog to keep readers informed about the local retail community.

We don't have rigid requirements for what makes a blog post—in fact, we're trying to break the mold. A blog post can consist of uploaded photos from a recent community event, a video you've shot on your iPhone or a how-to guide for shopping locally or making a presentation at a school-board meeting.

We also welcome opinion pieces and personal stories, such as the popular "" blog written by Mark Cox about being a stay-at-home father.

You’ll write on your schedule: what you want to say, when you want to say it. We want strong, honest, authentic points of view. I’ll screen the entries and may make minor edits for spelling and grammar, but your voice is your own.

You’ll own all your own content, so you can post what you write on your personal blog or on other blogs. The Patch blogging platform offers you a way to get your writing out to a wider audience.
