Caltrain Runs Early Trains For Bay To Breakers

It's a good alternative to driving, which could be messy on Sunday morning.

Caltrain officials announced that they will be offering riders special train service for Sunday's Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco.

Four express trains will run early Sunday morning to provide service to the race. All trains are scheduled to arrive in San Francisco by 6:40 a.m., transit officials said.

The Special A train will depart the Mountain View Caltrain station at 5:10 a.m., the Special B train will depart San Jose Diridon station at 5:20 a.m., the Special C train will depart San Jose Diridon station at 5:25 a.m., and the Special D will depart at 5:30 a.m.

The starting line for the race is about 1.4 miles from the San Francisco Caltrain station at Fourth and King streets. Riders can walk or take the San Francisco Municipal Railway Muni Metro T-Third light-rail line to the race, transit officials said.

After the event, two express trains will depart San Francisco for San Carlos, making all local weekend stops to San Jose Diridon station. The express trains will depart San Francisco station at 1:10 p.m. and 2:10 p.m.

Caltrain will not stop at the Santa Clara station due to construction.
