Vietnamese Treats

Get affordable, tasty meals at our weekly restaurant pick.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

– This is one of my go-to lunch places in South City, and judging by the noontime lines, I’m not the only one who has a soft side for this Vietnamese restaurant. A large bowl of bun—vermicelli noodles, vegetables and your chosen combination of pork, beef, chicken, shrimp and imperial rolls—will leave you stuffed and with leftovers to take home.  Other options include flavorful Pho soup and rice platters with a choice of meat. The inside of the restaurant is spare, but on warm, sunny days, the patio out front is practically luxurious. 219 Grand Ave. 650-952-2243. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Prices: $6 to $12 for most entrees.
