What Are Your Best Memories of Serra Bowl?

The 51-year-old bowling alley shut its doors for good on Sunday.

Bowlers filled the lanes at Daly City's Serra Bowl Sunday afternoon to commemoriate the last day of business for the iconic bowling alley, open since 1961.

"I've had tears in my eyes for almost two weeks," Edmar Mina, 61, of South San Francisco, told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Though many local bowling alleys have closed, South San Francisco's is still going strong—. In fact, owner Millard Tong sees the dearth of local bowling alleys as a business opportunity, and plans to more than double the lanes at Brentwood Bowl's new location in the old Century Plaza multiplex.
