Sam's Deploys Roving ChowderMobile

The second mobile seafood truck from the popular seafood eatery will rove around the Bay Area.

Sam’s Chowder House is heading inland.

The second mobile seafood truck from the Half Moon Bay eatery will rove around the Bay Area serving lunch and dinner to hungry customers – and yes, that includes the Northern Peninsula.

Though it seems hard to beat the popularity of coastside seafood restaurant , its is arguably even more popular than its brick-and-mortar counterpart.

With over 7,500 followers on Twitter monitoring the mobile seafood truck's feed with the hopes that the fire engine-red vehicle will appear in their city sometime soon, the ChowderMobile has been in high demand since its debut in 2009.

“Right now we cover from Napa down to Monterey and we can’t keep up with the demand," said Paul Shenkman, Managing Partner of Sam’s Chowder House.

Now, with a second ChowderMobile to be deployed around the Bay Area soon, more of Sam's seafood-loving public will have the opportunity to enjoy its meals than ever before.

While routes for its second food truck are still being decided — ChowderMobile manager Juan Hurtado tweeted out a request for preferred routes earlier this month — the original ChowderMobile shows no sign of slowing down.

Its hectic schedule includes lunch stop-offs at corporations such as Genentech in South San Francisco and Facebook in Palo Alto, along with regular weekend forays in Golden Gate Park.

In the past week alone, the truck visited Tensoft in San Jose, the Eat Real Fest in Oakland, the monthly food truck event in San Mateo, and Redwood City's Electronic Arts and upscale fitness facility Pacific Shores, as well as Cisco in Santa Clara.

The ChowderMobile also fits in catering for private gatherings such as picnics, weddings and company off-site events.

"We can even hold Lobster Clambakes right on the beach," Shenkman said.

The second truck will serve the same menu as its older sibling, including the restaurant's famous Maine lobster roll, fish and chips, clam chowder, fish tacos, and shrimp po’ boys sandwiches. Key lime pie will be available for dessert.

Sam's Executive Chef and Partner Lewis Rossman is directing food activities for both trucks, while Hurtado is directing daily operations.

Every year I buy more school supplies and art supplies for the teachers and they know they canRead More always count on me for more whenever needed. I'm a strong believer in encouraging children to be creative and get rid of the barriers to the freedom of self expression.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
