Local Unemployment Holds Steady for First Months of 2011

The city's unemployment has hovered around the same rate for the first few months of 2011; January's unemployment rate was 10.3 percent. But the rate compares favorably to last year; by point of comparison, September's unemployment rate was 11.1 percent.

San Mateo County's unemployment rate for March was 8.4 percent, and California's overall rate was 12.0 percent.
