Harbor Commissioners Show Tenants Some Neighborly Love

The San Mateo County Harbor District hosted a new annual event Tuesday called “Tenant and Customer Appreciation.”

The San Mateo County Harbor District hosted a new annual event called “Tenant and Customer Appreciation” on Tuesday at Pillar Point Harbor.

“We not only have a business relationship with our tenants, but we also consider them our neighbors and friends,” said San Mateo County Harbor District harbor master Scott Grindy. “This event is a unique opportunity for our stakeholders to meet district leadership and staff up-close, in a fun and non-business environment.”

Harbor Commissioners and staff served up BBQ burgers and hotdogs, and some fresh catch seafood. Tented tables were set-up on the dock by the harbor master office. It was a chance for harbor tenants to eat good food and to meet and greet each other in a relaxed setting.

The “Tenant and Customer Appreciation” event was also put on at the Oyster Point Marina in South San Francisco this month.

With the 80th anniversary of the San Mateo County Harbor District approaching in 2013, Harbor staff is working to bring some more events like this to both Pillar Point Harbor and Oyster Point Marina.

“Keep an eye on the Website for more details,” said Harbor District general manager, Peter Grenell.
