Find Buried Treasure At Saturday's Citywide Garage Sale

Hundreds of South City residents expected to open their garage doors, participating in the 12th annual event.

For the 12th year in a row, South San Francisco is holding its on Saturday, asking residents to open their front yards, carports and garages to neighbors who are ready and willing to help de-clutter their lives. Who knew such helpful people existed?

With a couple hundred households citywide expecting to participate tomorrow between 9am and 4pm, you’ll be sure to come across plenty of furniture, clothing, jewelry, sports equipment, kitchenware, books, music, movies, toys and holiday decorations.

Also coordinating with the Citywide Garage Sale is the local . This first-time event is happening in their warehouse, just behind the (next to ).

The warehouse is currently stocked with over 1,000 donated items, including one person’s entire estate, clothing, furniture, books, tools, kitchenware, TVs and a great assortment of holiday novelty items. Thanks to ’s donation of clothing racks and innumerable hangers, all the clothes are nicely hung and ready  to easily browse.

The Boys and Girls Clubs Garage Sale opens at 8am and runs until 4pm, giving you an extra hour in the morning to shop this huge sale before residents open their own garage doors.

Proceeds from the Boys and Girls Club event will go to the  locations in and their two locations in , helping them continue to offer affordable afterschool activities for local kids and adolescents. They are hoping to raise $3,000 from shoppers tomorrow and plan to donate unsold items to , , and .

You may be craving a few extra hours of sleep Saturday morning, but remember that the early bird gets the worm. And tomorrow, that worm could be a great deal on a pair of hardly used skis, a record player and who knows what else.

We help by asking teachers if they need anything. They'll drop hints and we'll go and purchase theRead More products. Most, if not all, parents are willing to help their children's classes if they are able to. It's really unfair for the teachers to purchase supplies out of their own pockets.
