Drug Maker to Eliminate Jobs, Leave Town

Takeda San Francisco will leave its South San Francisco office to consolidate California operations in San Diego.

Japanese drug-maker will close its South San Francisco office, eliminating half of the 65 jobs at that location and offering the remaining employees jobs at its San Diego office.

The move, announced Friday, comes as the company has seen its stock price fall, the San Francisco Business Times reports. Takeda will be consolidating its California operations in San Diego.

Takeda is Asia's largest drug manufacturer, according to the Business Times.
