Starting March 24, South San Franciscans will have a new option for grocery shopping.
Grocery Outlet, a chain of stores that offers overstock brand-name goods, produce, meat, dairy, wine and other products at steep discounts, will be opening at 125 Hickey Boulevard.
Owners Dave and Michelle Radcliffe are operating their first store, but they're not new to the grocery business. Dave Radcliffe worked at Trader Joe's for 26 years and retired as a regional vice president.
Formerly residents of Fremont, they've returned to the Bay Area after 13 years and are glad to be living in South San Francisco.
"We love the diversity here," Michelle Radcliffe said.
