Local Marine Builds Fitness Website

A local Marine comes home from Iraq and builds a fitness website. Hear his inspiring story!

What if you worked a full time job and never received a paycheck? What if that job required weekends, night, and stretching your limits of understanding, could you stay with it?

For the past 18 months this has been my burden, and not just mine, but my husband and most loyal friends’ as well.

In 2008 my newly wedded husband was deploying to Iraq. The economy was in the pooper and my gym management job was deleted (literally, nationwide). It was time to re-build. I opened up small personal training studio and began starting over.

When my husband returned to a San Bruno base, things got interesting. I had always felt awful about the cost of personal training. The reality is, not everyone can afford one-on-one training, but most Americans really need professional help! It was with a humble Marine’s salary that we were able to correct this issue.

My husband, my friend Liz and I developed fitwithbrit.com, an online website where we capture the essence of a personal training session and release three new workouts a week. We made it affordable for everyone, costing about the price of two Starbucks drink, and we made weekly plans for our client’s specific goals in mind. Most importantly, we understood time was an issue for most, so we developed 10-20 minute workout routines for our members.

The Fit with Brit team is made up of a scrappy group of visionaries. Seeing what we have accomplished with our heart and drive, but knowing my team intimately makes me chuckle. For starters, our marketing director has been made into a working night owl. This girl has two little ones under the age of two! And they are beautiful little crazies! Stitches, whooping cough, diaper rash, teething… They always need attention. Some how our Liz always gets it done. Second, and maybe the most remarkable, we have my husband. Mike is a full time student, carpenter, and self-taught web guru! In this man’s sparing free hours he taught himself web coding and made the most beautiful fitness website in the industry! Granted, I’m a little bias, but seriously, you have got to give my boy props! Lastly, our team is made up of me, the trainer. For those who have known me you may have seen me at time in a wheel chair and other times doing burpees. I’m just your average trainer battle multiple sclerosis.

So here we are 18 months later. Fitwithbrit.com is becoming a well-oiled machine. Currently, Fitwithbrit.com is a valuable and affordable tool for ones’ health that no one knows about. You see for all our heart, drive and passion we are still a small business.  We plan on bringing fitness to the world, but we would like to start with our hometown’s support!

Hundreds of hours filming, thousands of hours learning/implementing coding, and every minute dreaming. We are a company that provides weekly workout routines from the comfort of your home. I’m sure you will hear about us one day.
