Community Corner

Transportation Open House

The Bayview community is invited to an informational Open House from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 21 at the Bayview Opera House, 4705 Third St., to learn about three proposed transportation projects in their neighborhood.

Caltrain is preparing to replace the rail bridge over Quint Street, which is more than 100 years old and has outlived its useful life.  One of the proposed options would eliminate through access on Quint Street to facilitate construction of a potential future Caltrain station at Oakdale Avenue.

If Quint Street is closed at the bridge, the bridge replacement would be paired with a second project, a new road between Quint Street and Jerrold Avenue to improve local access to the community.

The results of a recent ridership study for the proposed Oakdale Avenue station also will be presented.

A light lunch will be provided.

The open house is sponsored by Caltrain, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority and San Francisco Supervisor Malia Cohen.
