Will You Be Biking To Work?

San Carlos joins the Bike to Work effort!

On May 10, San Carlos will join the Bay Area in celebrating Bike to Work Day, an event held to alleviate traffic congestion, cut pollution and save energy.

San Carlos will participate by hosting an Energizer Station at the San Carlos Train depot from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

"Hop on your bike and encourage your friends to do the same," said the city. "Then stop by for coffee and treats as well as a tote bag stuffed with useful biking information and helpful bicycling items. Plus, we will have lots of information to give you to simplify your daily commute!"

Let us know if you'll be biking to work on Thursday!

Hi! Yes, I will be biking to work on May 10... just like I do every other work day.

I've been contemplating this for some time. Does anybody have a recommended (safe) route to get to Carlsen Audi in East Palo Alto?

That's awesome, Margaret, good for you. And Eric, let me ask around for you!

I take CalTrain from SC to Mt. View, then VTA to Middlefield every day. While I enjoy riding my bike for recreation, my route provides the opportunity to get in about 3 miles of walking a day. I was impressed by the number of bikes on CalTrain this morning!

I can't comment on the safety, but Google Maps has a Bike Route (as well as walking) option on the Get Directions panel of their maps.
