South City's Farmers' Market Is Small, But Has It All

We checked out South San Francisco's Farmers' Market to see what they had in store.

As many of us are still warmly tucked in bed, farmers from all over Northern California are busy at work fastening goods and hauling crates of the freshest produce into bins and onto trucks for transport. From Modesto to Watsonville, these growers make their weekly trek to Orange Memorial Park in South San Francisco as the sun rises and the fog casually settles in the space between the coast and the Bay.

Brought to you by the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association since 1988,  farmers' markets all around the Bay Area operate with the collective mission to provide viable economic opportunities for California farmers, give community members local access to farm fresh products, support local businesses, and educate communities about nutrition and sustainable agriculture.

As part of their effort to provide local access to the best foods possible, the South City farmers' market proudly accepts WIC-FMNP Coupons and EBT (food stamps). You can spend your WIC-FMNP coupons directly with the farmers and if you  spend at least $10 in food stamps, you earn $5 for free to spend at the market!

Regardless of fog, rain or shine, you can find this market set up every Saturday at Orange Memorial Park between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. through the end of the season, which runs through Oct. 30. And don't forget to check them out on Facebook.
