Salmonella Threat: Pet Food Recall Expanded
Your dog, cat or ferret could get violently ill if they eat the recalled food or treats.
Natura Pet Products has recalled several brands of pet food after tests confirmed contamination with salmonella. The recall includes California Natural, EVO, Healthwise, Innova and Karma dry food for dogs, cats and ferrets, along with pet treats by some of those brands.
The most severe symptoms of salmonella in animals include lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have lesser symptoms including decreased appetite and abdominal pain. Infected pets can pass salmonella along to other animals or humans.

The recalled products are sold through veterinary clinics and pet specialty stores. Everything should be pulled from store shelves but you should check the pet food and treats already in your home for the dates and codes recalled.
For a product replacement or refund call Natura at 800-224-6123. The phone line is staffed Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. PDT.
