Walk for Peace

Residents of South San Francisco are invited to join the Walk for Peace this morning.

The event is sponsored by South San Francisco United for Peace, and will remember the community's six victims of violent crime who died over the last two years.

The event will feature opening remarks from Kevin Mullin and Pedro Gonzalez, co-chairs of The South San Francisco Coalition for Safe Neighborhoods. Presentations include South San Francisco Police Chief Mike Massoni, and Aysha Haq, mother of the late Joseph Akash Maharaj. Anthony Limoges, principal of South San Francisco High School, also will speak.

Walkers are asked to wear white. Those 17 and younger must be with an adult.
