San Francisco-Based SmartRecruiters Holds "Veterans Helping Veterans" Event

SmartRecruiters, a web-based hiring platform, is partnering with DirectEmployers, Veterans Network Cafe and the Employment Development Department Vet Reps for a half-day career day at its SOMA location on November 7, 2013. Starting at 2:30 PM PST, the companies will be providing free expert career advice to veterans looking to grow their careers.

According to recent Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 21.2 million veterans in the current work force, but the unemployment rate for Veterans age 18 to 30 is approximately 25 percent higher than the average 18 to 30 year old; to help combat such statistics, the founder of SmartRecruiters started the event to help fellow veterans find employment.

"Veterans Helping Veterans" will help unemployed and underemployed veterans further their careers. People from the Veterans Network Cafe, Employment Development Department, DirectEmployers and SmartRecruiters will lead group discussions and provide personalized career counseling, ranging from resume revisions, mock interviews, and introductions.

To be eligible for the event, attendees must be a veteran looking to grow the career and bring their DD-214 or VA Card; for more information and to sign-up for the event, please visit http://helpingveterans.eventbrite.com/.
