Northwestern Mutual awards $10,000 grant to the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation

Volunteers help better their communities by donating their time and talents to improving the lives of others. In the spirit of volunteerism, Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation, is recognizing Alex Rosenblatt for his work with the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF) as part of the company’s 19th annual Community Service Program. Rosenblatt is a wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual –The San Francisco Bay Area Group.

 

The award honors Northwestern Mutual financial professionals that demonstrate exemplary service with a local nonprofit. In addition, the award secures a $10,000 grant for the nonprofit the representative supports.

SFGHF is a nonprofit organization that provides fundraising support for vital programs and patient care at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (The General). The General provides quality health care and trauma services with compassion and respect to patients that include the city’s most vulnerable. In 2010, Rosenblatt joined the SFGHF board and currently serves on several committees, including the Heroes & Hearts Steering Committee, the Development Committee and the Capital Campaign Steering Committee. In addition to raising awareness and organizing fundraising events, Rosenblatt generated more than $5 million in donations during the past four years to provide emergency and trauma services.

“As a native San Franciscan, I am wholeheartedly committed to San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, the only trauma center supporting San Francisco and San Mateo counties,” said Rosenblatt. “I am proud to serve on the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s board and applaud its tremendous impact on our community.”

 

SFGHF will use the grant to develop comprehensive programs within the pediatric service, including the San Francisco medical-legal partnership and healthy lifestyles clinic for vulnerable children in the area.

 

“If actions speak louder than words, then Alex is definitely a shining star,” said John Kordsmeier, president, Northwestern Mutual Foundation. “His volunteerism serves as an inspiration for all of us to share our passions with the hope of bettering the lives of others. Northwestern Mutual commends Alex on being a community partner and example to all of us.”

 

Northwestern Mutual’s Community Service Program honors 25 financial professionals throughout the country who consistently work as exceptional volunteers in their communities. Since 1995, the company has donated more than $3 million to nonprofits on behalf of its representatives.
