Man Found Dead On Sidewalk Didn't Appear To Be Attacked

Juan Carlos Quinonez, 33, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk on the 700 block of Circle Court early Thursday morning.

South San Francisco Police are continuing to investigate the death of a man found on a sidewalk in South San Francisco early Thursday morning, they said Monday morning.

Juan Carlos Quinonez, 33, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk on the 700 block of Circle Court shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, police reported.

An autopsy was conducted and the results are inconclusive, although the death doesn't appear to be from an assault, said Sgt. Bruce McPhillips.

"We don't know yet if it was drugs or alcohol or a medical condition," he said.

The Medical Examiner's office is analyzing the results, but "we don't know how long it will take to get them," said Sgt. McPhillips.

Quinonez was declared dead at the scene by paramedics, and police are investigating his death. Anyone with information is asked to call (650) 877-8910.
